The leather isnt waterproof, but the barrier causes water to bead up on the surface of the hide rather than soak straight in
(just in case the link in the PDF doesn't work: This may look like other leather bag patterns out there, but I created this one from scratch, in Illustrator, and made it to be easier than other patterns to put together, hand-stitch, and have a longer lasting finished product. Size of finished product: approximately inches 8 wide x 10 inches tall (not counting the strap) I recommend using a lighter weight leather for the body and a bit thicker for the bottom and straps Pattern is set up for using a 1mm or 1.5mm punching hole, with 6mm spacing. The shoulder straps are 1 inch wide, so you'll need 2 - 1 inch buckles. The 3 D-rings I used are 1 inch, so are the 4 - 1 inch clasps. Like I mentioned, this is a PDF file, ready for download now.
